EAGER, AZ. On October
9, 2009 Coopers Chance Animal Rescue in connection with several volunteers and animal advocates worked together to rescue
over 20 dogs abandoned at a home in northeastern Arizona. Coopers Chance learned of the hoarding situation from a compassionate
independent animal rescuer in the Valley. The home, without power or water and covered in feces was abandoned
by its owner and the animals left to die. The White Mountain Humane Society and County shelter have no resources for caring
for so many animals. Their option without our help: euthanasia.
Our small rescue needed
help with this mission. And we got it! Several volunteers and fosters stepped up to assist in this massive rescue. People
who had never met showed up to assist in any way they could. From donating kennels, food, transportation and fostering, we
were able to rescue all abandoned animals and bring them to safety in Chandler, AZ. Also, involved in the rescue was a box
of "free" 6 week old puppies being given away that our team picked up on the way out of town and 5 additional dogs
from the Eager pound, which were scheduled for euthanasia that day.
With a total of 33 dogs
and cats, we are in desperate need of donations. All animals need to be vaccinated, spayed and neutered. You can help by making
a donation directly to this cause. We are also in need of foster homes, as some of the dogs are still in boarding, awaiting
a loving home to heal in.
Despite their terrible ordeal, most of the dogs are beginning to relax and feel more secure in their environment;
giving affection and becoming more trusting of people. We are seeing progress everyday and continue to give
them positive human contact, which is helping many of the dogs break out oftheir fear and
re-connect with humans. The dogs were kept together, so many of them get along with other dogs, in fact, they rely on their
comfort. We will be posting pics and bios of all rescued dogs. Please note that these dogs will not be
available for adoption until they are completely vetted and altered. If you are interested in adopting one of these precious
souls, please send us an email or fill out and adoption application and we will contact you to discuss the dogs progress and
possible adoption availability. Check back often, as we will be posting regular updates on this mission.

Enjoy this amazing slideshow
of the massive Eager, AZ Rescue on 10/09/09 and then DONATE to help with this mission. Rescuing these animals from deplorable conditions was just the beginning; now we must find foster
homes, vet care, vax, spay, neuter, food, socialization, training and finally, a forever home. And we need your help to do
it. Abandoned by a hoarder, these animals were not only neglected, but abused. Despite their fear, they are all very sweet
and gentle dogs and cats. We are working with each animal to provide socialization and proper training to insure their lives
will be productive and happy! Please consider fostering or adopting one of these precious souls. Give them the second chance
they deserve! Contact Us at cooperschance@yahoo.com or Donate what you can. It will make a difference!
EAGER RESCUES
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
Thank you for your interest in fostering or adopting
one of the Eager rescue dogs and cats. We are in need of experienced foster families to help these abused and neglected animals
find their trust of humans again. Almost all of the dogs are shy, skittish and fearful. Most of the dogs do great withother dogs and would do best in a home with another dog so they may learn how to be a dog again. These dogs and cats
are very special as they each survived terrible conditions and horrible neglect to have a second chance. Please give them
the second chance they deserve, if you are looking for a very special companion that needs a lot of TLC, please consider one
of these precious souls.
All
of the rescued Eager dogs are now available for adoption and featured on our ADOPT ME! Page.
Can't adopt? FOSTER a
dog in need! Becoming a foster family is a very rewarding way to save the life of a homeless animal. Please consider opening
your heart and home to one of these very special rescued pets. They are awaiting their forever home; please give them that
chance. Become a foster family!
